NWACA will hold an informational meeting about the new Land Development Code (LDC) for all neighbors:
Thursday, October 24, 4 to 6 p.m.
Huffman Hall
St. Matthew's Episcopal Church
8134 Mesa Drive
We will be reviewing maps of the zoning categories (also called zoning codes) assigned by the new LDC to the parcels throughout the NWACA neighborhood, and you will be able to talk with members of our Zoning and Transportation Committee about your individual property. We will be joined by Kurt Cadena-Mitchell, policy aide to Councilmember Alison Alter, and by Annick Beaudet, co-lead of the team developing the new LDC, to provide background and help answer questions.
Here is a map showing the new zoning codes assigned, which you can examine and zoom in with your PDF viewer. You can also print this on A size paper.
The most commonly assigned new zoning codes for homes in the NWACA area are R2A and R4. This zoning comparison chart shows key characteristics of those new codes, along with the most commonly used codes in our current zoning regime (SF2 and SF3). The chart has been updated (see highlights in pink) to show that in R4 zones, the current single family structures are allowed to remain as is, or to be remodeled; there is no requirement to change what is on the lot. In addition, more information about ADUs was added.
