Neighbors and friends,
We’ve been receiving questions about the annual July 4th Parade which NWACA is known for hosting every year. Without a doubt, it’s the pride and joy of our neighborhood, and our organization puts all its resources into planning and executing the event.
While our optimism grows by the day with the increasing vaccination rate and continued reduction in Covid-19 cases, we are forced to make a decision now for an event that wouldn’t take place for two more months. Please understand we must err on the side of public health and safety when considering an event that historically averages attendance in the thousands.
It is with a heavy heart and after much discussion the NWACA Board of Directors decided to cancel the July 4th Parade and Freedom Festival again this year. Instead, we are planning to host celebrations later this year, knowing that we miss all our neighbors and friends as much as you do.
