Potential Streets for 25 MPH signs

January 31st, 2022

Reducing speed limits to 25 mph in Austin neighborhood streets (streets less than 40 feet wide from curb to curb) was approved by the Austin City Council, to improve safety for all travelers. Streets to which this applies include those shown with dark blue lines in the map below.

If there is a street which has serious problems with speeding, and the street is less than 38 feet wide, it might qualify for a sign. Let us know at [email protected] if you have a candidate street for a sign and provide your rationale. The NWACA Transportation Committee is compiling a list to discuss with an Austin Transportation Department engineer to consider possible places for signs.
