LDC Public Hearing 12/7/19

December 6th, 2019

The Only Remaining Scheduled Public Hearing on the Land Development Code revision (aka CodeNEXT) is this week, Saturday, December 7th, starting at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall in Council Chambers. Parking at City Hall is free – bring your parking ticket to staff inside City Hall for validation.

Plan to Arrive early, 8:00 a.m.- sign up, leave for breakfast, then return to the hearing. Signup closes at 3 p.m.

City staff say they expect the public hearing to be crowded and they recommend arriving early to sign in at the kiosks in the hallway outside the city manager's office.

Options: If this hearing goes as past hearings have: 1) People can sign up to speak to Council for a 2-minute period; or, 2) Just sign in Against or For the proposed Land Development Code and leave; or, 3) sign up to donate 1 minute of time to another speaker. A speaker may have as many as 2 donations (giving them up to 4 minutes). People who donate time must be present when their speaker is called to speak.

NWACA Board Member Robert Nash plans to be at Council just about all day and will gladly assist anyone with using the kiosk sign up or getting parking validated. This new Land Development Code has enormous implications for the future of the City, so you may want to consider attending this hearing!
