Bull Creek District Park Construction Update

June 22nd, 2020

(From Austin Parks and Recreation Department)
Construction at Bull Creek District Park began as scheduled mid-May 2020.

Beginning Tuesday, July 6, 2020, the two parking lots servicing Bull Creek District Park will be closed for approximately three weeks. The closure will help ensure the safety of all patrons while construction work is being performed in the area.

The parking lots servicing the Bull Creek Greenbelt will remain open throughout the construction period.

Background
Known for its unique limestone outcropping and popular swimming opportunities, Bull Creek District Park is the anchor for Bull Creek Greenbelt. The park improvements will include new accessible walking trails throughout the district park, improved signage and wayfinding, and new park amenities including landfill and recycling receptacles. Construction will continue through much of the summer and is expected to be complete by the end of August 2020.

The Bull Creek District Park will have limited parking availability throughout the summer. The Bull Creek Greenbelt and the many parking lots that serve the greenbelt will remain open as no improvements are planned within the Bull Creek Greenbelt.
